شجرة اركنو

كثيرة هى الاشجار التى تنمو فى مناطق واقاليم التبو , ولاكن قل ما نجد شجرة تحظى بالقداسة والتبجيل والاحترام والرمزية كما هو الحال فى شجرة اركنو وهى شجرة ظليلة وذو افرع كثيفة وتنموا وحيدة فى الصحراء , ؟ فما هى الرمزية التى ثمتلها هذه الشجرة ولماذا هى دون غيرها من الاشجارالتى تحظى بالقداسة ؟ وما هو تاريخها فى مناطق التبو ؟

لهذه الشجرة مميزات عند قبائل التبو :

يعتبر التبو شجرة اركنو كالكتاب تسجل عليها كل رموزهم وسيمهم ؟

تحت هذه الشجرة تجرى مراسم تنصيب سلطنات بعض القبائل ؟

يحتمى بها من الرعد عند مواسم الامطار ؟

قد تجد هذه الشجرة فى صحراء قبائل التبو واول ما يلفت نظرك هو كثرت الرسوم والسمات على جذع هذه الشجرة و التى تخص القبائل المختلفة , حيث تبقى هذه الرسوم والسمات ازمنة طويلة على جذعها دون أن تمتحى ,؟ ويضر بها الامثال عندما يتبادل الانسان التباوى الجمال والتى بالعادة عليه سمة قبيلته لينتقل الى شخص آخر من قبيلة اخرى فيضع سمة اخرى عليها ..ونظرا لكثرة “ السيمة على هذا الجمل “ يضرب به المثل “ جمل مثل شجرة اركنوا “ لان كل من يشتريه يضع عليها سمته اواهم ما يميز هذه الشجرة هو طول عمرها الزمنى “ يقال انها تعمر حتى مأتي سنة ولهذا السبب تجرى مراسم تنصيب سلطان التبو تحت هذه الشجرة ثيمنا بطول عمر السلطان الجديد ؟

اما قصة قدرتها من الوقاية من الرعد فى موسم الامطار فهى عادة يمارسها الرعاة فى الصحراء ولا احد يعرف سرها

ومن اشهر القبائل التى تجرى مراسم تنصيب سلطانها تحت هذه الشجرة هى قبيلة “ ارنا “ وهى من اشهر قبائل التبو

من الامثال التباوية فيما يخص هذه الشجرة يقال ":

“ انسان معمر مثل شجرة اركنو؟

او جمل تبادل ملكيتها اكثر من انسان ووضع كل واحد سمته عليها فيقال “ جمل مثل الاركنوا” للدلالة على كثرة انتقال ملكيته ؟

Tibesti Mountains/جبال تبستى

The Tibesti Mountains are named for the Toubou people  also written Tibu or Tubu, that inhabit the area. In the  Kanuuri language , tu means "rock" or "mountain" and ( bu) means "a person" or "dweller," and thus Toubou roughly translates to "people of the mountains" and Tibesti to "place where the mountain people live."

Most of the mountain names are derived from  arabic  as well as the  Tedaga  and Dazaga languages. The term ehi refers to peaks and rocky hills, emi to larger mountains, era to craters and tarso to high plateaus or gently sloping mountains. For example, the Ehi Mousgou is a 2,849-metre (9,347 ft) stratovolcano near Tarso Voon; likewise, Era Kohor is a crater on top of Emi Koussi. The name Toussidé means "that which killed the Tou," as in the Toubou, reflecting the danger of the still active volcano. The name of Bardaï, the principal town in the range, means "cold" in Chadian Arabic , because of its low nocturnal temperatures. In the Tedaga language, the town is known as Goumodi, which means "red pass," signifying the color of the mountains at dusk.

The Tibesti mountains lie on the border between Chad  and Libya, straddling the Chadian regions of Borkou and Tibisti and the Libyan districts of Murzuq and Kufra, around 1,000 kilometres (620 mi) north of N djamena and 1,500 kilometres (930 mi) south-southeast of Tripoli. The range is adjacent to Niger and located approximately halfway between the Mediterranean Sea  and Lack Chad , just south of the Tropic of cancer The East African Rift  is 1,900 km (1,200 mi) to the east and the  Cameroon Line lies 1,800 km (1,100 mi) to the southwest.

Tobou culture

From dancing, to poetry, there are many hidden aspects to the Tobue identity, and that's what makes them unique and distinct amongst other tribes. Exercise of their unique tradition and culture isn't out of mere recreation, but an expression of a much deeper cultural identity. The Tobue language despite belonging to the nebulous Nilo-Saharan ursprach carries traces of much larger geographical scope than often believed. Our culture/tradition whether through singing, dancing or poetry, testify to our unique and distinguishable. Our culture covered all aspects of our life, from weddings to funerals. Uniqueness is necessarily bad as some political systems and regimes make it seem, our uniqueness should rather be looked at as an exoticism, a blessing that should be held to high regard.

"And proclaim the Grace of your Lord"... Despite the clarity of the verse, there are those who falsely interpret it as a reference to material goods or sustenance, but that's half of the truth, in reality, it's a direct reference to all the material and non-material goods god has provided us with, differences, whether cultural, political or physical are a substantial part of it. The tobou tribe is an intrinsic component of every society/country they reside in. Whether it's Libya, Chad or Niger, their presence is inalienable however expendable their rights have been over the years. Their marginal numbers relative to surrounding communities have made them target for discrimination, but the nature of their lifestyle and the harsh conditions of the desert that harboured them for thousands of years meant they could persevere against as many odds as their world decides to throw at them.

The Tobou or rock people  are an African ethnic minority, dispersed among four states: Libya, Niger, Chad and Sudan. They are considered to be one of the most distinctive African

tribe, mainly due to their tradition and culture  . The Tobou people more strongly resemble sub-Saharan Africans, rather than their fellow nationals to the north. Their language, Tebu, is part of the NiloSaharan language family, and their basic social unit is the elementary family, organised into clans.

Their main activities revolve around pastoralism, farming, and date cultivation

. Their hostile habitat, dire poverty, extreme living conditions and remote location

means they have a reputation for being a tough people.
